INTRODUCING BAREFOOT BAY TIMELESS!
I’m thrilled to announce my next series and unveil the covers of Barefoot Bay Timeless, a trilogy to celebrate the silver fox hero. I’m taking readers to the beloved sun-drenched beaches of Barefoot Bay but time there’s a little snow…on the hero’s roof.
Several years ago, I started a feature on my Facebook page called “Because it’s Friday…” and gave my followers a “hot guy” treat in celebration of the end of a long week. One day, a commenter joked about how these handsome hunks were more like sons than age-appropriate fantasies. That resonated with me, so the next week I posted George Clooney and remarked that “Sometimes sexy comes in silver.”
Well, guess what? My Facebook page blew up with happy readers! I don’t think I’ve ever had as many shares and likes on a “Because it’s Friday” post! My Friday posts turned silver from that point on and “Silver Fox Fridays” has remained a fan favorite for more than two years. That had me thinking about the heroes I write…and the women I write them for. My guys usually range in age from late twenties to mid-thirties. But I know first-hand that are many, many romance readers who are looking for older heroes to sweep them off their feet. In addition to George C, the Silver Fox Friday readers love Richard Gere, Sam Elliott, John Stamos, and don’t even mention Mark Harmon. The place explodes.
There’s so much to love about a mature man who has years of experience and insight. The crinkles around his eyes prove he laughs a lot, and life has taught him that every moment matters. These men are patient, thoughtful, and have nothing to prove. They’ve been fathers or husbands, they’ve endured heartache and hope, and they know what they want in a woman. All that – along with a gorgeous face and a healthy, sexy body because it’s still a fantasy! – makes for a terrific hero.
Here are the silver fox heroes I’ve created and the books where you’ll find them:
Barefoot at Sunset: Mark Solomon is a forty-eight year old thrill-seeking adventurer, and a widower who has loved and lost his soulmate. He doesn’t believe there can be another…until he finds a woman crying on his villa doorstep and strikes up an unorthodox plan with her. For Mark, the real adventure is about to begin. (June 14, 2016)
Barefoot at Moonrise: Captain Ken Cavanaugh is a forty-three year old firefighter whose been burned by love, but one heated encounter with his high school crush changes everything. Now this man who takes risks for a living puts everything at stake to have the family he’s always wanted. (August, 2016)
Barefoot at Midnight: Lawson Monroe is a forty-six year old bad boy chef with a lifetime of baggage who returns to Barefoot Bay to settle a score, only to have his plans derailed by the one woman who knows his every weakness. (October, 2016)
I’m having a blast writing these novels and hope the mature hero is a homerun with romance readers. These guys are older, wiser, hotter…and silver. It’s a great color for romance!
PS. That cute guy carrying his shoes in the banner? That’s my man, Mr. St. Claire! AKA Rich “the chef” Frisiello, my handsome husband!!
