Barefoot Bay Kindle World
Guidelines and World Rules

The following guidelines will be strictly enforced by Amazon Publishing and Roxanne St. Claire.

Respect the Rights of Others: We take violations of laws and proprietary rights very seriously. It is your responsibility to ensure that your content complies with all laws and does not violate the copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity, or other right of any other person. The use of unauthorized third party intellectual property (including but not limited to characters, logos, or lyrics) is prohibited.

Create High-Quality Works: An excellent customer reading experience is paramount to Kindle Worlds. Poorly formatted books and books with misleading titles, cover art, or product descriptions will not be published. We reserve the right to determine whether content provides a poor customer experience.

Promote Your Creative Vision: Your writing and vision should be the focus in your Kindle Worlds fiction. Paid advertising or excessive use of brand names is prohibited.

Cultivate One World at a Time: We don’t permit crossovers from other Worlds, meaning your work may not include elements of any copyright‐protected book, movie, or other property outside of the elements of this World.

Choose Your Words with Care: Offensive content is prohibited, including but not limited to racial slurs, excessively graphic or violent material, or excessive use of foul language.

Craft Romance with Intention: Sexual content is permitted, but we don’t accept pornography or offensive depictions of graphic sexual acts.

Avoid Certain Characters: You are not permitted to use original characters created by other Kindle Worlds authors writing in this World.

Keep Your Rights to Your Characters: You will keep all rights to any original characters (whether new or previously published) you introduce to this World through your Kindle Worlds story.

Barefoot Bay Only.  Stories must be based on or related to characters, scenes, events, themes and plots appearing in novels, novellas, and short stories in the Barefoot Bay series authored by Roxanne St. Claire.  No other series by this author may be included in the Kindle Worlds program. Thus, Barefoot Bay Kindle World Participating Authors are not permitted to use any character as a MAIN CHARACTER that has appeared in previously published non-Barefoot Bay books, specifically NO characters from either the Guardian Angelino or Bullet Catchers series, including those who also appear in Barefoot Bay books.  If the characters appear in a Barefoot Bay book, they may ONLY be included in Barefoot Bay Kindle World books as walk on characters; they are not permitted to be used as main characters in any book. (Those characters include: Gabriel Rossi, Nino Rossi, Vivi Angelino Lang, Colton Lang, any member of the Angelino or Rossi family, Lucy Sharpe, Johnny Christiano, or any member of the Bullet Catchers security team.)

Titles.  No Barefoot Bay Kindle World book will feature a title that is the same or is misleadingly similar to the title of any of Roxanne St. Claire’s novels, novellas, or short stories. Specifically, no title will include the word “Barefoot” in the title.

The Barefoot Bay World Logo.  All of the covers will automatically include a Barefoot Bay World logo and the Kindle World logo, both added by Amazon at time of uploading.  The lower ¼ of the cover should be free of important images or words so they are not covered by these logos.

Author Name.  No Barefoot Bay Kindle World author may use a pen name that is similar or could be confused by readers to be Roxanne St. Claire.

Timeline.  Barefoot Bay Kindle World Authors are permitted (and encouraged) to write prequels and alternate universe stories with timelines that run prior to and parallel to the most recent Barefoot Bay series book for sale on written by Roxanne St. Claire.  Barefoot Bay Kindle World Authors are not permitted, however, to write stories that extend beyond the timeline (into the near future) of the most recent Barefoot Bay series book for sale on written by Roxanne St. Claire.
